Swine Production Manager
Brief Job Description: Responsibilities of this position include supervising, maintaining, and scheduling the efficient breeding and farrowing of sows to reach production and financial goals for the operation.
Location(s):
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess superior communication, training, problem solving, and organizational skills, with 3 to 5 years management experience in a large-scale total confinement operation. A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field preferred.

Essential Job Functions

  • Organize and delegate work schedule to department team members.
  • Collecting and extending semen.
  • Heat checking sows.
  • Artificially inseminate sows successfully to meet productions goals.
  • Feeding sows.
  • Processing, treating, and castrating pigs.
  • Manage weaning and sow movement.
  • Maintain sow cull on farrowing productivity.
  • Vaccinate and oversee health of sows.
  • Power wash, clean, and sanitize farrowing barn.
  • Record and manage accurate farrowing data.
  • Train and motivate department team members.
  • Maintain equipment.
